How Shelter for LGBT-Migrants works - Video Interview by Donbass Public TV
In 2014, the Public Organization "Insight" opened a temporary Shelter for representatives of the LGBT-community from the Donbass and Crimea. For 2 years, about 40 people passed through the Shelter.
In addition to free living, residents are also provided with household things, medicines and, if necessary, travel tickets.
The coordinator of this project Olga said that the creation of such a Shelter was a long-standing idea. Olga also told what difficulties had to be faced during the creation of the shelter. The first problem is to find the apartment where the settlers will live. According to the head of the organization "Insight", it is not easy to find financing for such a project. Since the activity of military operations in the east of the country has decreased, theSshelter was opened for those who simply fell into difficult life circumstances.
